Australia Wide Nine is a non-themed, survey exhibition showcasing the artwork of OZQN members from across Australia. The exhibition will be launched at Fabrik, Lobethal, South Australia on Friday 8 November 2024 and will continue on tour until 2026. On Tuesday night I was thrilled to receive notification that my new work "Taken" was selected to take part in the next Ozquilt Network touring members' exhibition

Hi everyone, so last week I was notified that “Experiencing Epilepsy” had been selected to take part in the biggest quilt show in the USA. I didn't expect this to happen and I'm still in awe of the fact that it will be there.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for me as this particular work is the piece that has started garnering me attention both nationally and internationally as an artist. It would mean so much if I could be there in Houston in October but due to a series of unfortunate events beyond my control at this point, it's looking like it just won't happen.

A number of people have said that they would be willing to help with costs so I've set up a GiveALittle and am reaching out for help either with a share or a donation to try and make it possible.

Yours sincerely
Daena

I'm thrilled to have been selected to take part in the "Brilliant Vibrant Women 2024" exhibition at Linwood Arts Eastside Gallery

The exhibition showcases vibrantly colourful works by 14 local women artists. Many works are inspired by brilliant women and traverse their joys and pain, quiet strengths and loud resistance. Invoking the domestic there are quilted, woven and embroidered works. There are adventures in earthly delights, playful takes on bright, shiny consumerism, dancing with fire, works that examine the experience of synaesthesia and epilepsy, and the connection between women and healing plants. Ultimately the works exude a sense of diversity and solidarity.
Opening Event: 5.30-7pm Tuesday 27 February 2024, all welcome.
Location: Eastside Gallery, 388 Worcester St, Christchurch, free parking onsite.
